Can You Cook It ?

Can You Cook It ? - CLICK TO ENLARGE A "Can You Cook It ?" event organised in conjunction with the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) took place in the Bridge Centre on Tuesday 23rd November.

After an opening demonstration by LMC Home Economist Ruth Doherty, the Rev Jerome and Rev David McIlwrath were first to demonstrate their culinary skills, with Father Paul Strain and Oliver Priestly (standing in for Rev Norman Cameron) following. Despite some dubious preparation methods, the final dishes looked and tasted well.

Approx 220 people attended to enjoy the banter and cookery tips.

A very big "thank you" to all those who attended (especially from other churches), all who prepared tray-bakes for the refreshments.  A special "thank you" to Tracey Davies for preparing certificates for the guest "cooks".

Just under £1100 was raised for the Restoration Fund.

Harvest Barn Dance and Supper

The Bridge Centre was the setting for a Harvest barn Dance and Supper on Saturday 16th October. Over 60 adults and children turned up to enjoy the music and dancing.

A big thank-you to everyone who supported the event.  £210 was raised for the Restoration Fund. Also many thanks to Dessie, Kieran and Michael from "Country Folk" for providing the music, Mrs Kathleen Coulter for looking after the calling, and everyone who provided food or helped on the night.

Harvest Lunch

On Sunday 3rd October just over 40 adults and children enjoyed a "Harvest Lunch" in the Parish Hall.  We were also fortunate to have the Rev. Christopher Pollock (visiting preacher) and his family present as well.

Thanks to all those who attended, and also to those who helped or supported the event.

A total of £217 has been raised to date for the Parish Building Fund.
