| The
Diocese of Down and Dromore, under the lead of Bishop Harold Miller,
has adopted a strategy which focuses on the three key areas which
have been identified as priorities for action and change for the
period 2000 - 2005; Reconciliation, Outreach and Young People.
As a parish within the
Diocese, we at St. John's Parish of Killyleagh are saying to
ourselves and the world that we are thinking again about the Church
of Ireland's attitude and actions, particularly where these relate
to Reconciliation, Outreach and Young People. We want also to
challenge the world to think again about the relevance of the
Christian message in the new millennium.
Our Prayer
Points -
1. Give thanks for the significant
response to the recent Alpha Courses. 2. The wisdom to meet
our need for discipleship and enabling people to be involved in the
life and witness of the Church 3. To develop leaders who would
be part of a team ministry.
Future Plans
- The Parish to have a
strategic plan towards reconciliation, outreach and youth.
World Mission to be given a high profile.
Vision Thought
- The importance of prayer (by
parish groups) for the ministry.
